which took place at each location.
In 1200, Miura Suruga no Mori Yoshimura, the grandson of Miura Daisuke Yoshiaki, laid the foundation for Fukujuji, which was later formally established by Zen Master Keishuku Daiko in 1212.
It is said that the main object of worship, Kannon Bosatsu, was created by the famous monk and sculptor Gyoki and that the saddle, armor, and short sword used by Miura Yoshimura were passed on to the temple. Today, only the saddle and armor remain in the main hall.
The inscription on Yoshimura's nearby grave reads ""Nankoin Giten Yoshimura Zenjomon"" which was his Buddhist name given upon his death.
A statue of Miura Yoshiaki, which is an Important Cultural Property, is enshrined at Manshoji Temple in Oyabe, Yokosuka City. To this day, descendants of the Miura clan gather from all over Japan on the anniversary of Yoshimura's death, November 5th.
