Seiunji Temple was built by Miura Yoshitsugu in 1104 as a memorial to his father, Tametsugu.
In the mausoleum behind the main hall, gorinto pagodas for Miura Tamemichi and Miura Yoshitsugu flank the central gorinto pagoda for Miura Tametsugu. Tamemichi was the founder of the Miura clan. After he was given the land of Miura by Minamoto no Yoriyoshi in 1063, he took the name Miura and built Kinugasa Castle.
Tametsugu, the second generation head of the Miura clan, followed Minamoto no Yoshie to fight in the Gosannen War (1083).
Yoshitsugu, the third generation head of the Miura clan, served Minamoto no Yoshitomo. During the invasion of Oba Mikuriya, he and his son Miura Osuke Yoshiaki joined Yoshitomo.
